Arrow Point Exterior South

Arrow Point Residence

Bainbridge Island, WA

This residence sits on the west side of Arrow Point on Bainbridge Island over looking Manzanita Bay. Conceived as a part-time summer residence for a large, extended family. The compound consists of an original guest house, main residence with garage and carriage house. There are large terraces, a waterfront pool and BBQ cabana all overlooking the bay to the south.

The residence has its kitchen as the heart of the design. This opens to all the main public spaces including the dining and living rooms and the adjacent library and bar. The entry into the main house includes a north-facing moss garden with the stone wine room “relic” that imposes its mass into the center of the plan.

The exterior is mix of cedar shingles and stone with large open storm gates below the main floor level to allow the high tides to wash under the residence and easily escape. The interior is an eclectic mix of east coast shingle style components married with more rustic natural wood framing.
